Amaruq was founded to bring scientific discipline, practical experience, and implementation capability into one field-ready organization.
We work across water, land, industrial, and remote environments where understanding the system is only the beginning. The recommendation must also account for access, equipment, timing, logistics, environmental conditions, and the outcome the client needs to demonstrate.

Andrew Z. Skibo,
PhD, CLM
Certified Lake Manager. Aquatic technical specialist. Invasive-species scientist. Field operator.
Dr. Skibo has more than 16 years of experience supporting stakeholders, resource-management agencies, and application companies across the Western United States. His background is in invasive-species management, including herbicide modes of action and the identification and management of terrestrial, riparian, and aquatic weed species.
He earned his PhD from the University of Delaware in 2008 and founded Amaruq Environmental Services in 2015. He lives in Missoula with his wife and two sons.
Experience in consequential environments

Before founding Amaruq, Dr. Skibo served as a Principal Scientist and aquatic invasive-species specialist at Savannah River National Laboratory, part of the National Nuclear Weapons Complex.
His work included invasive-species control in radiologically contaminated environments—experience that continues to inform Amaruq’s disciplined approach to sampling, interpretation, documentation, safety, and field execution.
